Joy-a-Toes Helps Heal Bunions
In Image 1 the metatarsal-phalangeal joint of the big toe line is no longer supported in the center of the soft tissue. The soft tissue, which is shown as the white lines with red arrows, are like reins designed to keep this joint supported on all sides so the metatarsal bone and phalangeal bones (big toe bones) are in line with each other. In Image 2 one can see the Joy-a-Toes move the phalange bone into a corrected position to help bring the bones of the big toe line back into place. Image 3 illustrates wearing the Joy-a-Toes on a continuous basis recreates the openness and alignment of the feet.
• Pain or soreness
• Inflammation and redness
• A burning sensation
• Possible numbness
These symptoms occur most often wearing shoes that crowd the toes, such as shoes with a narrow toe box, like high heels (Image 4). This may explain why women are more likely to experience these unpleasant conditions than men. In addition, spending long periods of time on your feet can aggravate the symptoms, especially wearing tight toe boxed shoes. Wearing your toe spreaders after a day in high heels will help alleviate discomfort and heal the bunions. Ideally it would be better to only wear shoes with a wide toe box and forgo those with pointed toes or high heels, which aggravate the condition.
